National Governance Benchmark
I- GENERAL INFORMATION
1- General Framework of the Action
On December 17, 2015, the Tunis International Center for environmental technologies -CITET-signed a partnership agreement with the Presidency of the Government’s Governance Services and the National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property –INNORPI. It aimedat the implementation of the deployment project of the National Governance Benchmark NGB during the period going from 2016 to 2018.It will be accompanied by a communication and layout plan appropriate to the advocated procedure.
This benchmark constitutes an ideal framework to apply the principles of the Constitution, especially Article 15.
The goal is to enhance the loyalty attributes while respecting the ethics code within the framework of sustainable development; the decentralization of decision-making in order to favor a better local governance, and a participatory approach. The benchmark in question meets the needs of all categories of enterprises and structures active in Tunisia, whether they be public or private. The same benchmark is used as a basis for all evaluation. The objective is to enable the administrative structures to progressively adhere to the process of good governance, and corporate responsibility within the framework of a sustainable development.
II- DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIONS
1- Specific goal:
The project’s specific goal is to constitute and roll out the National Governance Benchmark. The benchmark will provide the guidelines and requirements allowing an engagement and a responsible governance procedure for the organizations, both public and private.
2- Completed actions:
- A national competences training phase,
For this first phase, the indicators retained are:
- The number of people trained;
- Target: 30 national experts (trainers, coaches, and auditors) will be trained during the period from 2016 to 2017. A second group will follow in the period 2017-2018.
- Methodological guides for training, coaching, and auditing in accordance with the prepared NGBs;
