Support program to the establishment of the Tunisian Ecolabel
The system of assigning the Tunisian Ecolabel is a voluntary certification system at the end of which the Ecolabel is delivered after the conformity of the product with a set of technical and ecological criteria throughout its life-cycle has been ascertained. The “Ecolabel” certification offers the enterprise a greater visibility and competitivity of its products/services by means of a credible information dedicated to the consumers, a better management of the environment via a rational use of the natural resources and a lower impact on the environment.
Thus, in order to help the enterprises certify their products/services CITET offers support programs ensured by specialized experts.
Currently, the Tunisian Ecolabel program covers tourist accommodation services and textile products notwithstanding the extension to other ranges of products.
The support to the establishment of the Tunisian Ecolabel will comprise the following phases:
• Engaging the enterprises to adhere to the Ecolabel support project;
• Diagnosis and action plan;
• Training the enterprises on the Ecolabel criteria and the auto-evaluation tools;
• Support in the implementation of the action plan;
• Pre-audit.
The description of the different support phases is presented below:
A detailed investigation visit to the site in order to gather the quantitative and qualitative information, and to assess the current status of the enterprise against the technical and ecological criteria of the Tunisian Ecolabel. Following this visit a report outlining the main results, and comprising the assessment of the unit’s status with regard to the Ecolabel criteria and the prioritized list of the actions to be carried out for the obtention of the Ecolabel will be handed to the client.
Phase 2 : TRAINING THE ENTERPRISE’S SENIOR STAFF ON THE TUNISIAN ECOLABEL’S CRITERIA
Two training programs will be conducted on behalf of two managers of the enterprise:
• The first one will deal with understanding the technical and ecological criteria of the “Tunisian Ecolabel”.
• The second is about the auto-evaluation and auditing techniques, with simulations, roleplays, and provision of all the documents necessary to carry out this mission with the explanation of the procedures to be followed to assemble the certification file, the preparation of the registration forms, and proofsof compliance.
